Frequently Asked Questions

If the answer to your question is not on this page, please don't hesitate to contact us by using our contact form, or by giving us a call at 772-774-7978.
What cities can you inspect in?

We can inspect vehicles from as far south as Ft. Lauderdale all the way to northern Vero Beach. Sorry, but we do not inspect in Miami at the moment.

What vehicles do you inspect?

We inspect most standard vehicles 20 years old or newer with less than 200,000 miles on the odometer. This includes most cars, trucks, SUV's, crossovers, hybrids, and EV vehicles. We do not inspect heavily modified cars or trucks.

At the moment, we don't do classic cars, motorcycles, RV's, motorhomes, semi-trucks, or busses, but plan to add these services in the very near future.

How long does an inspection take?

For most vehicles, our inspections take just over an hour. Longer if many issues are found.

When is the soonest you can inspect a car?

It's possible we can do it today if it's early enough and the seller is agreeable and available. However, that's not usually the case as many things can happen to prevent a same day inspection. Instead, we usually get things done within 24 to 48 hours after receipt of payment.

What will you check for?

Please see this page for a detailed look at what we inspect.

What is your refund policy?

Everyone should be treated fairly and we want nothing more than for you to be happy with us whether or not you end up using our services. Therefore, we have implemented a cancellation (refund) policy that easily rivals our competitors.

If you or the seller cancels for any reason before we have made an appointment for the inspection, then you will get a full refund of your money minus a 3% credit card fee. If your card was only placed on hold and not charged, then you would receive a full refund.

If you or the seller cancel the inspection after the appointment has been made, but before we inspect, then we would refund your money minus a $29 cancellation fee.

If you or the seller cancel the inspection after the inspector arrives to the location (or is driving towards the location), we will refund your money minus a $49 cancellation fee. Any travel fees are non-refundable in this case.

If the seller doesn't show up at the agreed upon time for inspection, then we will refund your money minus a $49 cancellation fee (or we can reschedule for a $49 fee). Any travel fees are non-refundable in this case.

If, in the rare case an inspector can't make an appointment, you will receive a 100% full refund.

Once an inspection has been started, there are no refunds.

Keep in mind, many of our competitors have a strict No Refund policy for all of their services, regardless of whether an inspection was made or not.

What if the vehicle sells before you can inspect it?

If the vehicle sells and we have already scheduled an inspection time but the inspector has not begun driving to the location, we will refund your money minus a $29 cancellation fee. Or we could put the money towards another inspection on a different vehicle for a later date.

If the vehicle sells, but the inspector has already arrived to the location (or is driving towards the location), we will refund your money minus a $49 cancellation fee. Travel fees are non-refundable in this case.

Keep in mind, many of our competitors have a strict No Refund policy for all of their services, regardless of whether an inspection was made or not.

When are you available to do an inspection?

We are available to do inspections 7 days a week from 8:30AM to 7:30PM or dusk (whichever comes first). We close only on Thanksgiving day, Christmas eve and Christmas day. We do not inspect at night or in the rain.

Do you inspect Teslas, hybrids and other electric vehicles?

Yes we do. It is for the most part the same as our standard inspection except of course there is no engine or fluid inspection.

We test the battery extensively for proper health. We also monitor the battery during test drive to make sure it isn't losing power too fast.

For hybrids, we make sure the engine is switching from the gas systems to the electrical systems (and vice versa) without issue.

Please see our electric vehicle inspection page for more details.

Do you do a compression check?

We do not do a compresion check due to the liability of damaging the seller's car. Plus, most sellers will not approve of us taking parts off of their vehicle.

Do you lift the vehicle?

Yes, we do lift the vehicle and conduct a thorough undercarriage inspection.

NOTE: Vehicles extremely low to the ground may not be lifted.

Do you guarantee the inspection?

We cannot guarantee the inspection report. We make every possible attempt to locate flaws and mechanical failures on a vehicle. Our inspectors can only report on what they observed at the time of inspection.

They do not take parts apart nor do they do a full mechanical examination, therefore cannot be held liable if something goes wrong later.

Please bear in mind that our trained inspectors know what to look for when inspecting used vehicles, but if the problem doesn't occur during the inspection or test drive, then they cannot report on it. It's sad to say, but some sellers can temporarily hide problems with a vehicle long enough to get it sold.

The good news is, most mechanical or electrical problems don't usually get past one of our inspections because of the advanced OBD scan performed on the vehicle which is considered to be dealership level scanning. Of course, it only works if the seller allows us to do a scan.

If a full inspection, diagnostic scan and test drive fail to indicate any problems on the vehicle and problems occur immediately after, these were more than likely hidden internal problems which go way beyond the scope of this mostly visual inspection.

Do you check the title of the vehicle?

We do not check the title of the vehicle in any way. We suggest you should take that up with the seller directly.

Can I call during the inspection?

Our inspectors are on a tight schedule and need to be efficient at managing their time. Handling incoming phone calls from customers would slow down our inspectors and cause delays. Remember, we're already taking an hour away from the seller, so talking on the phone would only prolong that time and increase the possibility of them stopping the inspection early.

However, if you'd like, the inspector can call you immediately after the inspection to give you a rundown of what they found.

How long does it take to get the inspection report?

After inspection of the vehicle, the inspector will upload the information to the company where a technician will review it. This review process can take anywhere from 3 to 5 hours after the initial inspection. However, if you'd like, the inspector can call you immediately after the inspection to give you a rundown of what they found. You will receive your report via email immediately after the review process is complete. Reports are sent out 7 days a week.
