INSPECTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please read the following terms and conditions carefully. These terms and conditions are a contract between you with Specktion LLC (doing business as “Specktion”). By visiting our website at www.specktion.com or ordering an inspection with Specktion, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. The rights and obligations in your agreement with Specktion are personal to you, and not transferable to another party. You must be at least 18 years old to order an inspection with Specktion. If you are under 18 years old or if you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Nature of Specktion Inspections
When you place your order with Specktion, you are hiring us to evaluate the overall condition of the designated vehicle, based on what our inspectors can subjectively observe. Specktion inspectors do not use tools or dismantle the vehicles.

The Specktion service is a visual inspection of all reasonably accessible items only, and some problems may not be observable during the inspection. The Specktion inspector will attempt to test drive the vehicle, but if this is not feasible, a test drive will not be conducted. Once the inspection is completed, you will receive a hyperlink to the inspector’s report, along with a package of photographs of the vehicle.

2. Some Services May Not Be Performed
Keep in mind that the vehicle we are inspecting belongs to someone else, therefore the owner of the vehicle has the final say in what we are or are not allowed to do to their vehicle. In some cases, some owners may refuse to allow a diagnostics test or test drive. You acknowledge that if a service is not performed due to the owner refusing, you will not hold Specktion responsible and are not entitled to a full or partial refund.

3. Specktion Service Limited to Inspection
Specktion performs inspection services only. Specktion is not affiliated with the seller of the vehicle and does not take a position on whether you should, or should not, purchase the vehicle. Specktion does not verify that the seller has the legal right to sell the vehicle. Specktion is not responsible for any representations made by the seller or any other party.

4. Inspection Is Not An Insurance Policy or Warranty
An inspection does not act as a warranty or as an insurance policy for any vehicle. You acknowledge and agree that if you purchase any vehicle inspected by Specktion, you are fully responsible for all costs for repairs and maintenance on your vehicle, whether or not covered by any other insurance policy or warranty. You acknowledge and agree that the decision to purchase any vehicle remains your own responsibility and that you are responsible for determining whether a vehicle is under warranty or properly insured.

5. Vehicle Remains “As Is”
Because the vehicle being inspected is a “used” vehicle, you agree that, even after inspection, you will be purchasing the vehicle in an “as is” condition, unless otherwise warranted by the seller. Because a vehicle’s condition may change between the time the inspection is conducted and the actual purchase of the vehicle, we recommend having the inspection completed as close in time to the purchase as possible.

The Specktion report is not a substitute for any safety or emissions inspection that may be required by applicable state laws. You acknowledge and agree that the Specktion inspection does create any warranty for any vehicle you may purchase and that your right to recover for any defects in the vehicle, whether or not disclosed in the Specktion report, is limited to any warranty the seller may offer.

6. Factors Affecting Inspections
Specktion inspections may be affected by weather and light conditions, as well as the cleanliness of the vehicle, both inside and out, at the time of the inspection. Many external factors, beyond our control, can reduce the accuracy of the inspection, making things such as repainting and body work difficult to detect with the naked eye. For the most accurate inspection report, the vehicle must be clean, dry and situated in well-lit location at the time of inspection. However, Specktion does not agree to take any steps or actions affecting the vehicle’s condition at the time of the inspection. Specktion strongly suggests that you contact the seller and make all necessary accommodations to ensure that the vehicle is as clean as possible and available in a suitable location for an inspection.

7. No Refunds
Once an inspection has been conducted, there are no refunds. If you feel the report was grossly negligent, then email us at hello@specktion.com within seven (7) days for consideration of a refund, include pictures and specific details addressing the issue(s). Due to the complex mechanical nature of automobiles and factors that may affect their continued performance, all submissions must be received by Specktion within seven (7) days of the report being delivered to you.
Pre-purchase inspection reports are NOT GUARANTEED OR WARRANTED, because changes in the vehicle can occur or manifest themselves between the time of inspection and the time of purchase, and because during a pre-purchase inspection the technician cannot see inside an engine or transmission and does not take the whole vehicle apart to check every component individually. Thus, impending failures may not be evident at the time of inspection.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you or the seller cancel for any reason before we have made an appointment for the inspection, then you will get a full refund of your money minus a 3% credit card fee. If your card was only placed on hold and not charged, then you would receive a full refund.

If you or the seller cancel the inspection after the appointment has been made, but before we inspect, then we would refund your money minus a $29 cancellation fee.

If you or the seller cancel the inspection after the inspector arrives to the location (or is driving towards the location), we will refund your money minus a $49 cancellation fee. Any travel fees are non-refundable in this case.

If the seller doesn't show up at the agreed upon time for inspection, then we will refund your money minus a $49 cancellation fee. Any travel fees are non-refundable in this case.

If, in the rare case an inspector can't make an appointment, you will receive a 100% full refund.

Once an inspection has been started, there are no refunds.

Keep in mind, many of our competitors have a strict No Refund policy for all of their services, regardless of whether an inspection was made or not.
